With my wedding day less than 4 months away my bridesmaids and I travelled from Darwin (not exactly the fashion capital of the world) to Sydney in search of the perfect bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses … and a girly long-weekend!! Before we left we did our research and phoned numerous bridal shops, Signature Brides was by far the most friendly, helpful and interested so when we landed in Sydney (after a night of no sleep on the red-eye flight) we checked-in to our hotel and headed out to Wetherill Park straight for Signature Brides. We walked in dying of thirst and busting to go to the toilet!! After we got that out of the way we settled in for few hours with the wonderful Iresha and began the hunt for our perfect dresses!!! With so many gorgeous dresses where do you start … fear not with Iresha on the case you’ll be pointed in the right direction!! The dress I fell in love with was the third dress I tried on, the bridesmaids had tears in their eyes and I was standing there in the gorgeous gown thinking I love this dress, but surely it can’t be that easy to find your wedding dress!! Convinced I had found my dress we headed over to the Barbra Calabro store to look for bridesmaid dresses, and again we found what we all agreed to be the perfect dresses!!! Having travelled all that way and allowing four days to search for dresses, we decided not to let our emotions get the better or us and buy the dresses then and there after only going to one store!! So we decided to take the time to check out what the others had to offer!! We worked our way through the other stores in Wetherill Park and then through the city centre the next day. We didn’t find anything that we like nearly as much, or anything that seemed to be the same high quality … nor any service close to the level of the team at Signature Brides. The next day we headed back out to Signature Brides, tried on the dresses again (just for fun) and then placed the order!!! Even my future husband was happy after I called to and let him know I’d even managed to stay under budget … little did he know that getting the dresses out of the way so quickly meant more time to shop for shoes and accessories!!!
My advice to all the inexperience brides out there is not to leave it as late as I did to order your dress!! As although it was easy to find our perfect dresses imagine my horror when we found out that dresses normally take 6 months to be made and delivered!!! My thanks goes out to the Signature Brides team for making sure we got our dresses in time for my big day … they endured a number of frantic phone calls from me along the way and they always managed to put me at ease and certainly came through with the goods … and with some time to spare!!! The hard part then was hiding the dress from my fiancé!!!
The BIG day finally arrived and we all looked stunning (even if I do say so myself) in our dresses!!! I truly did feel like a princess, and to see my husbands face when he saw me come down the isle in such an amazing gown was something I will never forget!!! We received comments from everyone … including the photographer who said it was obvious we didn’t get the dresses locally and that they would show up beautifully in the photos!! It was surprising just how comfortable the dresses were … our only dilemma now is finding an excuse to wear them again!!! I recommend putting your faith in the hands of the Signature Brides team and your body in a dress from Signature Brides or Barbra Calabro!!!!
